I'm taking an adult dance class!

Long time, no post.  Life happens, and it happened right on my face- 30 extra pounds, that is.  I mean what is up with that?  As soon as you hit 40, your waist line has to match your age?!?!  So in order to combat the spreading, I have joined an adult dance class.  It is at Ingram's School of Dance. Our dance instructor, Christine, is very patient with all of us old ladies, especially when we can't turn left and gallop like a horse- ha! We have ballet class on Mondays and Jazz/tap on Wednesdays.  TAP IS HARD, Y'ALL!  I mean do you know how hard you have to move that foot in order to make the sound? HARD.

Incidentally, I have learned a few things about myself.

1.  Motion sickness does not limit itself to virtual reality rides.  I swear when I turn, I look like I had a bad night at the club, rollin' and buzzing.  It's not the 90s!!!

2. Things are not as flexible as they used to be. Here I thought I was doing good, nope.

3. The Hippos on Fantasia are much better dancers than I will ever be.

4. I am sore in places I didn't know existed!

5. When the dance instructor says go to the barre, it is not the same as bar.

6.  I cannot do anything left. EVER.

7.  When I look in the mirror, I can see my fat wiggle.  FROM ALL ANGLES.

I freaking love it.  The teacher is amazing and is very patient with me. It is a lot of fun, and I hope it continues through the year.  I look forward to continuing.  Which brings me to my point.  I read an article about preventing Alzheimer's, and basically it said to combat the disease the best thing to do is to get out there and move your body, socialize with people, and do things outside your comfort zone.  New experiences, people!  So get out there and tappity tap!  If you're blue and you don't know where to go to why don't you go where fashion sits?

Puttin' on the Ritz!
