Sometimes, I’m an idiot.

So, I guess being middle aged means you start being forgetful. I see evidence of this everywhere, I forgot my keys, forgot where I put my phone, forgot my badge in the car, yadda yadda. But have you ever forgotten you had just cooked something?? 

I had made scrambled eggs, and moved the skillet to the other burner. I washed my hands, and when I turned around I noticed heat coming from the stove. I think, “oh is that hot?” and immediately put my hand on the burner I just finished cooking on. I mean come on! Sometimes I think I am too dumb to live. Is this what I have to look forward too? Jeez. 

Yes, my burners are dirty. I don’t care. Show me someone with a clean burner and I’ll show you someone who doesn’t cook.
